Aloha!!!!

Here’s my blog post about Barcelona! Ta-daaaaa!

I had one exam this week… and it was a HEAVY one!  The course is called metabolism. It’s really complicated and I have to remember a lot of chemical pathways, structures and enzymes!  So I needed all my concentration to ‘make it work’, as Tim Gunn would say ;) … And I passed the exam! :D The professor said that I did very well! Me = happy :D I can start blogging again!

About Barcelona:
I went to Barcelona with my boyfriend for a week! It was our first vacation together! :D
The weather was soooooo good!!! Especially because the sun is still missing in Belgium… :p
But of course something just had to go wrong! If you’re a long time follower of my blog, you might know that I get throat infections really often… and yes yes yes, the throat monster struck again! We were in Barcelona for over 3 hours and my throat got sore. My lymph nodes always swell out of proportion, so I couldn’t speak or eat a lot… But on the positive note: my boyfriend is the sweetest thing ever! He went to the pharmacist for me, he took care of me, he made me laugh all the time,… ^^ And because I couldn’t walk for a very long time (my joints hurt when I’m sick), we did something we would never do when visiting a city: we took the ‘hop on hop off bus’! It was soooo much fun! We saw everything in Barcelona :D
Aaaah and of course: chilling at the beach! What else :D

Ow, and one more thing: If you ever visit Barcelona, go to ‘Buenas Migas’! It’s the best focacceria in the world! And please, send me a piece haha :D

Euheum… This is something from a while ago…

I went to Venuez, a style and hospitality event.
But, there is more! I was one of the chosen ones to go see the Bacardi Legacy Competition! About 20 people were invited to attend this competition! ^^
The three best bartenders of Belgium battled for their spot on the plane to go to Barcelona, where the ultimate final would take place.
They had to come up with a cocktail that could be the new Mojito at parties and other events!
I’m happy that I wasn’t one of the judges; I think they had a really hard time deciding who the winner should be… Ultimately, Piotr Kuzmicki won with ‘superiocho’; a cocktail that contains lime juice, ginger, lemongrass, peach bitters, vanilla syrup, Bacardi superior and Bacardi 8 Años.

So, I wore:

•  A reaaaaaally expensive dress! This dress cost $400! But I bought it for 50 mhuhahahaha! I looooooove sales! ;D
• My DIY ear cuff thingy
• My new 'kick ass' boots (they are sooooo awesome!)

Think I’m gonna treat myself a cocktail now!

Sorry! Indoor photos today! But it was soooooo damn cold! =O Brrrrr…
I wanted to show you this outfit without my jacket. ^^

So this is what I wore to ‘Flair Shopping day’ in our mall. Flair is a magazine for women (I actually never read it… only when I’m waiting at the Chinese restaurant for my takeaway meal =D).
You could do lots of activities at the mall: toe reading, Flair cover photo shoot, try on a wedding dress, confess your darkest secret… and you could get a haircut! One of my friends did that… The hairdresser cut her bangs sooooo horrible! Her bangs had such a strange angle and her hair wasn’t straight… So after the shopping day, I grabbed me some scissors and tried to fix it! ^^ (Hallelujah! It looked great and I didn’t screwed up more! xD)

Mmmm by the way: I got so many nail art ideas… I wanted to do one for Halloween, but my nails are too short now (this look must be done with long nails) :/ What a shame!
Plus: I can’t wait for Halloween! =D I’m gonna dress up as the most scary person I know =O

Hi! ^^

I’m still really sick, but I’ll update my blog anyway =D
I had an amazing weekend! ^^ My boyfriend was super sweet because I felt so shitty (all that harsh coughing is also bad for your mental health =p)! So we went to the cinema Friday and we went shopping yesterday (I bought a HUGE maxi dress!). Ow, and he made me a ‘feel better fan’, a piece of paper folded as a fan with a sweet message on it! ^^

The Venice of the North

My boyfriend decided to surprise me last weekend! ^^
He planned two days full of fun to celebrate the end of my exams! =D

So this was my weekend:
Friday: Party + sleep over
Saturday: Visit Bruges! (Bruges is sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North" and the city has lots of medieval buildings.)
Sunday: Sleep most of the day xD

About Saturday:
So we got up very early in the morning (auwtch!) and we took our train just in time! It really became a matter of seconds…  =D
We arrived at 11 a.m., then walked to the town centre and discovered a tearoom on our way! The cupcakes were sooooo yummy! =O They all looked like a piece of art ^^

Shopping was our afternoon plan, but first, we wanted to visit the chocolate museum! Yes, yes! A museum about delicious chocolate! They even made Obama out of chocolate xD And we could taste some chocolate candy too ^^

After a long day of laughter, shopping and eating we went back to the train station trough the park.
Eventually, I fell asleep in the train haha =D

Chained Giant

Argh! Exams, exams and exams! Two more weeks and I’m free again, so hang on dear readers! ^^

This was my outfit, all chained up and dressed simple!

And tadadada: My first post with Ray Ban glasses! I already have had them since a VERY long time, but I've never posted a photo wearing them... So here they are =D

I don’t have much spare time because of all the physics and chemistry, but I just had to get out of the house! My ‘desk panorama’ was driving me crazy... So I went to see some giants walking around town. Yes, really! I’m not lying! =D

Two giants visited Antwerp and they spent two whole days trying to find each other! I’m not going to tell the entire story, so here’s a synopsis: There once was a big giant who lost his hand (like Brabo -> an old story of Antwerp) and after that accident he lived deep in the ocean. He woke up because of an eruption of a geyser and started his journey to the port of Antwerp, to search his hand and his little beloved niece. They both searched and searched and searched each other… and after 2 days they finally were united once again! To celebrate that, they organized a picnic in the park! And after three days, they went back home. Living happily ever after…

(Well, that was a very short synopsis! =p)

Haaa! I’m back! =D

I was on the ‘No computer’ island... Well, actually my charger eumh sort of exploded! And of course: my laptop’s battery needed to be charged at that time...

But everything is OK now (after waiting for over more than a week for my new charger)! =D

So, I went to Sfinks! It’s a multicultural music festival with lots of foreign bands, food from all over the world, a market and all sorts of entertainment.

This year a shaman visited the summer festival! They say he is a very important shaman in Korea.

Ow! And my Dutch and English teacher from last school year is a well-known DJ in Belgium! He mixes Balkan beats with popular music together with a live performance of sax, trumpets,... It’s really great! Maybe check DJ Merdan Taplak at Youtube =D

 

More about the food: There is Chili con carne, pasta, wok, …there is a dish for everyone! ^^ Even for vegetarians! Because you can get everything as a veggie version =D I ate pita with falafel! Mmmmm falafel! ^^
 

But we always waste our time at the market!

Everybody loves to thrift ;D I bought an awesome silver + onyx ring and my boyfriend wanted to buy a didgeridoo =D

Haha, OK, I know… I’m talking way too much! But I missed telling you all my bla bla bla! =D Let us end with my outfit, all right? ^^

It was a ‘world’ festival so I got inspired by India’s Bollywood!

Last weekend I went to the sea together with some good friends! =D

Things we always do at the beach:

• Rent a go-cart
• Eat icecream (last year I ate 'mojito' icecream =O)
• Buy candy from the Candy Shop (a totally PINK shop with lot's of sweets: strawberries, spiders, dolfins, rainbow thingies,...)
• Sharing french fries
• Run straight into the sea as if you were acting in Baywatch!
• Be lazy in the sun
• Go window shopping =D

Hmmm I think I'm forgetting something... Ah well, I can always edit this post later=D

Anyway, it was really fun! 

The ride back home was kinda weird, though =D My boyfriend and I went back to Antwerp by train. Another couple was sitting a few seats further and before I knew it, my boyfriend invited them to play a card game with us!

We had such a great time laughing and talking without even knowing each other's names!

Then the strangest thing happend... The other girl was also named Anastasia! =O But I never ever meet people with my name because it's so rare (in Belgium?)! =D So everybody was in total shock haha =D

As you can see at my pictures, the sky was getting stormy in the early evening...
After a hot day the wheater gods had decided to split the clouds in two, so all the rain and thunder could burst out!
But I still had a long way to go after arriving in Antwerp... The day ended dancing with my boyfriend in the cooling rain... ^^

Ok, the 'what I'm wearing' part =D A maxi dress + bikini! =D Paired with big sunglasses and beach hair haha! =D

But it was a weird day! =O

As I was wearing my new accessory (=>in my hair), people start asking me where I bought it... I think I launched a new hype in Belgium: the 3 strand headband! =D

We also drank some smoothies! =D (and made paper boats out of the juice bar's flyers, check out the one on my head =p)

Later on, when I was walking along with my friends, I noticed a girl with the same handbag as I was wearing! I thougt it was quite funny, because that bag was really 'rare'. =D All of a sudden she starts yelling 'filthy bitch' at me and other insults (but I will not bother you with that...) =O So strange that people can get mad because of a piece of clothing... I was so ashamed!

BUT! The day went on and we were hungry!
The pizza was great! We also played 'jungle speed' while waiting, it's a hilarious game (especially when the pizza guy passed by and said: "Oh no! I broke my finger with that game!")  =D

Ow, and is there anything more heavenly than eating ice cream at the end of a hot summers day? ^^

Sushi wars ! ! !

Woohoo! Yesterday I had my last exam! And after answering 6 pages full of stupid questions, I thought it was time for some relaxation!
So my boyfriend discovered a brand new sushibar! =D




Haha! So now I can explain to you why this post is called 'sushi wars'... Well, it was a ALL YOU CAN EAT sushibar! And believe you me! We can eat a lot! =D







I took as many shots of the sushi as I could... But we were so hungry after our exams, that the food didn't survived any longer than 10 seconds... =D

let's talk fashion! =D My new orange/red dress with a tutu skirt! Accessorized with a dark brown belt (with elastic in the back! Because I was planning to eat a lot haha =D), dark brown wooden bracelets and elefant earrings! ^^
